We have had our mutt for about 2 years now and luckily have not had to put her in a kennell when we went on vacation or such. But I was wonderign if any one had any good places that we would feel comfortable leaving her for a short-stay. This would be a last resort as she was a rescue dog and we feel horrible to put her in a kennel or something similar, but just want a backup incase the need arises. I think my vet offers this as a service but not sure. Thanks.

I recently took Grace to TLC Kennels in Trumbull. They put the dogs in runs instead of crates. They also offer free unlimited play time (some kennels charge extra for play time). TLC also shares the building with Mobile Vet, so a vet is right there in case of an emergency. Grace is only 4 months old, so having a good first kennel experience was important. She came home after a five day trip a healthy and happy dog. No signs of a negative experience were eminent.
I think putting a dog in someone's home is best, but if you must use a kennel, this is a good place to go!
