craft fair

on monday, april 23rd., from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., TDOG is hosting a fund raising craft fair at the trumbull library on quality street.  please mark your calendars and plan to attend.  we're confident that this fund raiser will be financially successful, the proceeds will go a long way in offsetting expenses for the park (dog waste pick-up, etc,), and your attendance will show the crafters that their money to participate was well spent.  thank you!See More

agressive incident

To all Trumbull Dog Park visitors, An unfortunate incident occured yesterday at the dog park. The dog "Ruby" became very aggressive towards Silvia's golden pekinese and other dogs. Helen, Ruby's owner, was not able to control her dog. Helen was asked several times to leave the dog park by myself and Silvia; she refused. Silvia called the police, however, unfortunately did not wait for the police and our Animal Control Officer to arrive.  Silvia, please call Lynne DellaBianca, Trumbull's Animal…See More

puffy, the lost dog

i just received word that a chocolate-colored, short-haired german pointer named puffy was found on park avenue in bridgeport.  i'm told that she is a very sweet dog, perhaps 12 years old, and has minnesota tags.

if you have any information about the owner, please give me a call at 203.268.6565.

thank you.

thank you to all the members who took the time to visit, and a special thanks to louise, ken, dawn, ted and emma for all their hard work that made this fair profitable!!   jo ann

Sounds good. It would be only a matter of time, until a tragedy occurred. And even if not, dogs running off to roust a "kill pit" (what other word can I use?) is unpleasant to contemplate, and surely unsafe.

We have gotten many interesting comments through our online poll. Most are horrified at this idea. One member wrote that her dog got frightened when gunshots rang out while they were walking off leash at Grace Richardson. Her dog was found... at Lake Mohegan. That means in his fear, he ran all that way, and across the Merritt Parkway to get there. It is sickening to think what could have happened, for her, for the dog, and for the drivers on the parkway.

I hope the meeting was productive- very frustrated to not have made it. Struggling with personal schedule at the moment, but will look forward to the next time.

Yes, we have been getting the info about the kennel cough. We really appreciate yours and everyone elses efforts to make sure that we were informed.  Neither Charlie or Penny are symptomatic but we are keeping a close eye on them.  Thank you again for your concern.
