RULES FOR THE USE OF THE DOG PARK (Effective January 1, 2012):
TDOG, in conjunction with Trumbull’s Animal Control Officer, have developed the following rules for the dog exercise area:
Unaltered and aggressive dogs are prohibited from the park at all times.
Immediately leash your dog if it exhibits aggressive behavior and leave the dog park area. If a dog is bullying, mounting, or scaring visitors or other dogs, ask the owner to remove the dog from the park.
All dogs must have a valid Trumbull dog license and rabies vaccinations up to date.
Licenses and rabies tag must be displayed on the dog’s collar. No pinch or choke collars.
Excessive barking is not allowed.
Dog handlers must be in voice control of and in visual contact with their dogs at all times.
Dogs younger than four months should not be brought to the off-leash area.
Children between the ages of 10 and 15 must be accompanied by an adult. No children under the age of 10 are allowed in the dog park.
No pet handlers under age 16.
Owners will carry a leash with them at all times.
Owners will stay with their dog(s) at all times and not leave the park; constantly keeping a watchful eye.
No more than 3 dogs per person.
All dogs will be on a leash from the parking lot to the unleashed area.
All owners are responsible to clean up after their dog and disposed of in the provided containers. They are also to repair any holes created by their dogs.
Soft dog toys only are allowed at the park. These toys, such as tennis balls and cloth Frisbees, may be used far way from other dogs and their owners. If the toys are disturbing or creating great excitement of the dogs in the dog park, the play must stop.
No smoking or food allowed.
No glass or metal containers.
Absolutely no feeding dogs.
Vicious Dog Ordinance applies.
Dog owners are 100% liable for any injuries or damage caused by their dogs. Users of the dog park do so at their own risk.
